Dr. Edward Pucci

Dr. Edward Pucci is a center of excellence bariatric surgeon who is board-certified in surgery by the American Board of Surgery and fellowship trained in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery from the prestigious George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, D.C.   He completed his general surgery residency at The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey/Morristown Memorial Hospital where he served as a chief resident.  Dr. Puccis' expertise in Bariatric Surgery were instrumental in leading the program to receive the distinguished Center of Excellence designation from The American Society For Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.(ASMBS)

Dr. Pucci has the distinction of having a landmark publication in the Journal of the American College of Surgeons which reviewed the alterations in gastrointestinal physiology after the Roux-En-Y gastric bypass.  Other publications of his have appeared in The Journal of Laparoendoscopic and Advanced Surgical Techniques, Surgical Endoscopy, Annals of Vascular Surgery, and The Journal of Trauma.  While at The George Washington University Medical Center he gained experience in several research trials including Laparoscopic Electrical Stimulation for Weight Loss.  

Dr. Pucci specializes in the laparoscopic gastric bypass, laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding(The Lap Band System and Realize Band), sleeve gastrectomy, single incision laparoscopic surgery, laparoscopic surgery for reflux, hernias and other gastrointestinal diseases.

He has taken great pride in his surgical abilities and patient care.  Nothing exemplifies this more than the awards he has received.  These awards include the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons Resident Achievement Award.  He also received the Hughes D. Dougan, M.D. Outstanding Surgical Resident Award when he was a chief resident.  This award was selected by his peers in recognition of the surgical resident who exemplifies devotion to patient care, attention to detail and excellence of surgical technique.
