Dr. Anthony Pucci is a board-certified, fellowship trained surgeon who specializes in advanced laparoscopic, gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery. He comes to us after completing extensive training in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery at the Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia.
Dr. Pucci received his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He continued his training in General Surgery at Morristown Memorial Hospital, an affiliate of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey/New Jersey Medical School, where he also served as Chief Surgical Resident. He furthered his specialization and continued his training in an Advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery Fellowship at the Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia.
Dr. Pucci’s area of interest and specialty is advanced laparoscopic weight loss surgery, including laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass, laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding and laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, in addition to minimally invasive and advanced gastrointestinal surgery for both benign and malignant disease.
Dr. Pucci has extensive experience in the latest minimally invasive and bariatric surgery. He has trained with many of the world’s experts from some of the nation’s most renowned medical universities, including the Virginia Commonwealth University, Duke University and The University of Iowa.
Dr. Pucci has also done significant research in his specialty and area of interest. He has published and presented his research extensively around the nation in various academic forums. Some of his work has been published in such journals as the Journal of the American College of Surgeons, and has been presented at national conferences of the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, American College of Surgeons Clinical Congress, and The Southern Surgical Association.
